Edgar Mitchell was a former NASA astronaut and the sixth human to walk on the Moon as well. Before he died he made a shocking claim that aliens have been on Earth during the Cold War and prevented a nuclear war.
After his retirement, Mitchel dedicated his life to extraterrestrial research. He died at the age of 85 in Florida.
However, before he died, he did an interview with the British newspaper Mirror Online in which he gave some shocking details.
“My own experience talking to people has made it clear the ETs had been attempting to keep us from going to war and help create peace on Earth,” he said.
He also mentioned how the extraterrestrials were trying to prevent a nuclear war to create peace on Earth.
Moreover, the NASA astronaut mentioned the UFO sightings in the military bases.
He stated he has spoken with numerous Air Force workers who were present there during the Cold War. According to him, they told him that UFOs had frequent episodes of showing up and deactivating their missiles.
Other officials on the Pacific coast said that their missiles were frequently disabled by alien crafts.
Mitchell also said the US government covered all the information regarding these events.
In this regard, in 1974, a National Security Act was signed. This act forbid the exposure of the information connected with the sightings.
“White Sands was a testing ground for atomic weapons — and that’s what the extraterrestrials were interested in. They wanted to know about our military capabilities,” said Mitchell.
Nevertheless, not so many people believe Mitchell’s nuclear war claims or other high-rank officials who opened their soul about the UFO sightings and aliens.
Not only these claims, but Dr. Mitchell also stated the Roswell UFO incident really had alien origins.
NASA responded to Dr. Mitchell by saying: “Nasa does not track UFOs. Nasa is not involved in any sort of cover-up about alien life on this planet or anywhere in the universe. Dr. Mitchell is a great American, but we do not share his opinions on this issue.”
Recently, the public found out about a top-secret Pentagon program called The Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program, which spent $22 million on UFO sightings investigation.
The man who ran the program, Mr. Luis Elizondo wrote in a resignation letter to Defense Secretary Jim Mattis the following:
“Despite overwhelming evidence at both the classified and unclassified levels, certain individuals in the [Defense] Department remain staunchly opposed to further research on what could be a tactical threat to our pilots, sailors and soldiers, and perhaps even an existential threat to our national security,”
