The Japanese company Taisei Corporation tested out their prototype simulation of the X-Seed 4,000, a building of 4,000 meters high that was said to have been able to house over 500,000 people in it. The test actually proved to be a success, as it is said to have showcased the fact that it not only could have been done within the following couple of years but that there is no reason as to why this wouldn’t have worked to begin with. Based on this theory the book Space Elevators was written and published in 2003 which explored the idea of 100,000km tall towers that went directly into space, into satellites which themselves were built as observatories.
With our current technology we are said to be able to actually penetrate the atmosphere of our planet but experts from the International Academy of Astronauts have actually reported on the fact that the structures wouldn’t hold out for much because of the gravitational pull. So, in conclusion, through the use of a new diamond-like nano-thread material we are set to actually accomplish our goal to build a tower straight into space.
