Vortex Hunters: Charting Portals Across the Globe

If you’re looking for a quick getaway, you might find Vortex Hunters to be just the thing you need. It’s an interactive map of various alleged vortices and portals said to exist around the world.

Clicking on an individual point takes you to a page describing the vortex location. They’re separated by vortex type: Energy, paranormal, triangular, etc. Also included are so-called “mystery spots,” UFO hotspots, and ancient sites thought to contain supernatural energies.

Some highlights include Ireland’s Hill of Tara (which some claim is home to high “Earth energy fields”), Angkor Wat in Cambodia, and the Devil’s Tramping Ground vortex in Bear Creek, North Carolina, where objects are known to vanish if left in the area’s mysterious ring overnight.

Also on the map are Ivan Sanderson’s Vile Vortices and the Thompson Park Vortex in Watertown, New York.

It’s good to know we have a lot of options.

Some vortexes, or vortices, like a few locations in Sedona, Arizona, are reported to promote a sense a well-being to those that are in tune with its energies. This type of vortex is called an energy vortex.

Other types of vortex claims include:

Paranormal portals that act as doorways to the afterlife–or other dimensions

Vortexes at the convergence of ley lines

Sites of ancient rituals like Stonehenge, Machu Picchu, Chichen Itza

Vortexes associated with crop circles

Centers of UFO/USO activity

Centers of Bigfoot/Yeti/Sasquatch activity

Vortex Hunting

Some vortexes are located in dangerous areas, other vortexes are reported to present dangers of their own. Before embarking on an investigation, prepare yourself by researching the vortex and the location.

Vortexes can be located in areas that require hiking or climbing. Do not attempt to investigate a vortex, unless you can safely access the area.

Pack accordingly when investigating in remote areas outdoors. Bring along a GPS device, compass, map, water, food, clothing, batteries, etc., the same items you would bring on any remote outdoor trip.

Vortex Hunting Tips

Hunt vortexes in groups of 2 or more.

Respect the Environment.

Tell someone where you are going and when you intend to return.

Leave a vortex site in the same condition as when you entered.

Get permission before investigating on personal property.

Good Vortex Hunters are skeptical, but have an open mind.

Increase the validity of a vortex with the right equipment and by documenting your experience with pictures and video.

How to Find a Vortex

Check our vortex map

Local vortex guides can be excellent sources for accurate vortex locations.

Here are some things that vortexes may have in common

Earth’s magnetic field

Limestone or quartz deposits

Ley lines

Sacred grounds

Beautiful surroundings

Unpopulated area

Multiple spirits

Once you have found a general area where vortexes might exist, use your senses and your intuition to guide you to a vortex site. Use dowsing rods or pendulum to help you find the center of the vortex.

How to Test a Vortex

Different vortexes require different type of test methods.

Traditional test equipment devices can be ineffective in sensing the unknown energies claimed to be present at some vortexes.

Often, the best evidence of a vortex is how people feel when they are in one. Monitor the body’s reaction to a vortex using a device that can measure heart rate, electrodermal activity, or brainwaves.

Digital/Video Camera – For video and pictures. Your pictures and video should inspire others to visit and to guide them to your vortex.

Dowsing Rods or Pendulums – Some claim that dowsing rods/divining rods or pendulums can locate vortexes.

Compass – Small changes in compass readings could point to a vortex.

Vortex Antennas – Energy Plates claim to aid in the investigation of the effects of energy (known or unknown).

Medicine Wheels – Some people say that Medicine Wheels can help make you more receptive to vortex energy.

Animals – It is claimed that birds can become disoriented in a vortex and that cats may have the ability to sense a vortex.

Scientific Equipment – Although vortexes have not been detected by standard equipment, scientific measuring devices can eliminate other causes of vortex-like experiences, like a high EMF field.

EMF meter – Electromagnetic Field meter, (sometimes referred to as an EMF Detector) is a scientific instrument for measuring electromagnetic radiation. EMF meters are often used in paranormal investigations.

Magnetometer – A magnetometer is used to map the Earth’s magnetic field.

Digital Audio Recorder – A Digital Audio Recorder can be used in paranormal investigations to capture EVPs (Electronic Voice Phenomenon).

Temperature measurement- Infrared, thermal cameras and hand-held infrared surface and ambient temperature sensors to detect changes in the environment, such as “cold spots”, which some believe accompany paranormal activity.

Geiger counter- to measure fluctuations in radiation which some believe will point to a disturbance in spirit energy.

Ion Meters – to detect an excess of negative ions which some feel are associated with paranormal activity.

Motion sensors – to detect possible anomalous movement within a given area, or to assist in creating a controlled environment where any human movement is detected.

Air quality monitoring equipment – to assess the levels of gases such a carbon monoxide which are thought contribute to reports of paranormal activity.

Infrasound monitoring equipment – to assess the level of sound vibrations below 20Hz which is thought to contribute to reports of paranormal activity.

Wishing you clear skies and wide eyes.
